All office transcription is completed and archived on a secure central computer protected by user names and passwords. Referring physicians routinely are provided clinic notes as transcriptions are completed and proofed. Pertinent pre-operative clinic notes are forwarded to the Surgery Department to assure that all pertinent data is available to enhance preparation, safety and surgical accuracy. Subject to applicable privacy regulations, other parties to patient medical care with “need to know” may request documentation. Chart materials needed for consultation and transfer of care may also be forwarded to the receiving physician by request.
